Project-Based Learning

I believe some of the most meaningful learning occurs when students have opportunities to do the authentic work of a discipline: investigating questions, solving problems, creating products, making decisions, and sharing their learning with others. I design and facilitate experiences that connect academic learning to meaningful purposes and give students opportunities to learn through inquiry, creativity, collaboration, and application.

Learning Through Authentic Inquiry

I believe project-based learning is most meaningful when it begins with inquiry and gives students ownership of the learning process. I design projects around guiding questions that invite students to investigate authentic problems and topics, make meaningful choices about how they learn and create, and apply their knowledge for a purpose beyond simply completing an assignment.

The projects featured here demonstrate how inquiry, student autonomy, authentic tasks, and meaningful audiences can transform learning into experiences students are excited to participate in, and remember long after the project is complete.
